Hernando County Fire Corps volunteers in 2023

The Hernando County Fire Corps is a group of dedicated volunteers who assist the Hernando County Fire Department with rehab and filling air bottles at structure fires. HCFC also assists with education. The Fire Corps has a smokehouse that simulates a burning building where children learn how to exit a burning building safely.

HCFC also provides first aid at various events. We also give classes in hands-only CPR to the general public at no charge.

The Fire Corps also oversees the Hernando County Fire Cadet Program. Fire Cadets must be between the ages of 14 and 21.

We are always looking for volunteers. Previous training or experience is optional. We provide all the training. Must be able to pass a background check. If interested in the Fire Corps or Fire Cadets, call Commander Ron Doyle at rdoyle299@gmail.com or fill out the form on our Contact Fire Corps page from the menu above.

Potential volunteers are welcome to attend our meeting. Our meetings are on the 3rd Monday of each month,  excluding December (no meetings in December), at Fire Headquarters, 15470 Flight Path Dr., Brooksville, FL, 34604, in the Airport Industrial Park.
